KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Luzerne County woman is facing charges after police say they found her home in deplorable condition and neglected dogs which resulted in a puppy's death.
According to the Kingston Police Department, officers were called to the 500 block of Schuyler Avenue for a report of unattended dogs in a home.
On September 18 officers said they met with neighbors who said the resident, Nicole Williams, 37, of Kingston, had not been living at the house for around three weeks and her dogs were left behind.
Eight arrested during DUI checkpoints
Police said they entered the home and found one female dog running around the house with urine and smeared dog feces around the floors. Further inside the house officers found a dead puppy in a crate with its head stuck in the wire frame, as stated in the affidavit.
Investigators determined that the house was in deplorable conditions and they did not find any food or water set up for the dogs.
Williams has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals causing SBI or death.
