TUNKHANNOCK, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — On Monday, residents took some time to celebrate local first responders with a sub and a sweet treat.
At Tunkhannock Community Ambulance in Wyoming County, locals can enjoy a firehouse sub, hoagies, coffee, and ice cream to help raise funds for local fire departments and EMS crews.
From now until Saturday, a portion of everything sold will be donated to local fire departments and EMS crews to help with everyday expenses. They're also holding a raffle.
Increasing security in Luzerne County for Election Day
So far this year, Firehouse Subs has donated over $400,000 to local departments.
"Do you have a favorite sub?" 28/22 News asked.
"The cheddar and biscuit," said Board of Directors member Matt Vanartsdalen.
Firehouse Subs is at the station on Bridge Street until Saturday every day from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Ice Cream Rescue will serve sweet treats daily from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
