Man accused of kidnapping woman, stealing car, money

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested after police say he held and threatened a woman with a gun inside her vehicle, stealing her car and money.

According to the Williamsport Bureau of Police, an investigation began when a woman reported she was injured after an altercation with a man later identified as Tyree Moy, 39, of Williamsport.

The victim told police while she was driving on West Fourth Street, Moy flagged her down to pull over and showed her the "butt" of a black firearm in his sweatshirt pocket. The victim reported that she complied with Moy's commands because the gun made her "terrified for her life," as stated in the affidavit.

Police said Moy then got into the car and forced the woman to drive to the 600 block of Wildwood Boulevard. There an unidentified man got into the car and the victim was instructed to drive and enter Wildwood Cemetery.
