EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — A 10-year-old girl from Mountain Top has found herself in the glitz and glamour of the national pageant spotlight.
In this week's segment of Here's to You Kid, 28/22 News takes a look at US American Miss Pennsylvania preteen, 10-year-old Elise Farmer.
"This was my first ever pageant I've only ever done modeling competitions, and I was actually really excited because I didn't know I was gonna win," Elise said.
Elise competed in the US American Miss Pennsylvania Pre-Teen Pageant that was recently held. For this competition, she performed an Irish Step dance. Elise is preparing for the next level of competition in Florida next year.
Elise is also a model. Before she decided to give pageantry a shot she modeled for some well-known brands.
"I modeled for Party City, Spirit Halloween, I worked inside Dallas Texas for American Girl Dolls," Elise explained.
She's a student, model, and pageant queen but the list doesn't stop there.

"I like playing softball and wrestling and Irish step dancing I have Irish step dancing every Saturday," Elise added.
Fun fact: She is also into wrestling.
"Whenever I wrestle, I usually wrestle boys and girls, so yeah," Elise stated.
She is grateful for the help and support of her family.
"My brother is a really good brother and I think I have some really good and supportive friends and family and my mom and dad," Elise continued.
She offers this advice to young people thinking of competing in a pageant.
"I would say to just be yourself and walk on that runway like no one else is watching," Elise said.
When she grows up she wants to be a reporter.
"I wanna go to college for communications so whenever my brother is able to make it to NFL or go to college for football, I'm able to interview his team," Elise explained.
Elise is a student at Rice Elementary School and she is currently preparing for another pageant next year in Florida.
