Husband accused of staging wife's suicide

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A husband is being charged after police say he staged a scene and claimed that his wife attempted suicide.

According to the Williamsport Bureau of Police, on January 21 officers were called to the 2000 block of Trenton Avenue for a reported suicide attempt by hanging.

Once on the scene, police said the victim's husband Dane Christofor Kay, 31, told them, his wife had "just tried to hang herself" in the bathroom shower.

The victim was unresponsive at the time and she was taken to a Williamsport hospital where she remained unresponsive for several days, officers stated. Four days later the victim woke up and told investigators that she did not hang herself and was attacked by Kay on January 21.
