High speed police chase leads to arrest, meth seized

WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is accused of hitting a county sheriff's car during a high-speed chase with New York police until he was arrested in Pennsylvania.

According to police complaints, on October 1 around 10:40 p.m., Broome County New York Sheriffs were in a high-speed chase with a driver identified as Scott Lord, 39, of Deposit, NY.

During the chase, a deputy sheriff said they discovered Lord had pulled into the parking lot of Lakewood Lodge and was sitting in his car. Once Lord realized police had found him, he fled again and struck the sheriff’s patrol vehicle, as stated in the affidavit.

Husband accused of staging wife’s suicide

Authorities say Lord recklessly drove up to 106 mph hitting a stop sign in the process and eventually crashing into a ditch ending the chase.

Pennsylvania State Police in Honesdale were able to detain Lord and when they searched his car they seized a bag of methamphetamine and $986 in cash.

Lord's bail was set at $75,000.00 and he has a court hearing on October 9.
