Authorities reported that in October 2023 during his court sentencing for theft by unlawful taking, Benting began shouting at the judge and other people in the courtroom, using profanity and an offensive gesture.
Benting also shouted at the victim in the theft case and threatened them, stating "You’re dead when I get out, I know where you live and I know everything about you," as stated in the release.
Due to the new sentence, Benting will be housed in a state facility and not in the BradfordCounty Correctional Facility.
