Two wanted on vehicle theft charges in Luzerne County

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they are looking for two men wanted for various vehicle theft charges.

According to Hazleton City Police Department, on October 5, 2023 around 2:00 a.m., officers pulled over a Honda CRV that had a fake temporary tag from Georgia.

Officers identified the three men in the car as Luis Pena-Sanchez, Alejandro Valerio-Perez, and the driver Jeremy Amurys-Ferradas.

In the back of the car, police say they discovered car parts and later determined that the vehicle was stolen from New York City a week prior.

All three were charged with receiving stolen property and other related offenses as a result of the investigation.  

On October 1, 2024, officers arrested Luis Pena-Sanchez at his residence. Currently, there are active arrest warrants for Amurys-Ferradas and Valerio-Perez.
