WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating an incident where a woman was robbed at gunpoint in the Sherman Hills Apartment complex.
According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, on October 3 around 11:39 p.m., officers were called to 300 Parkview Circle for a reported robbery.
Once on the scene, the victim stated that she had arrived at Sherman Hills Apartment Complex to visit a friend.
Two wanted on vehicle theft charges in Luzerne County
While she was walking near Building 328, she was approached by a man who took out a gun and demanded that the victim give him her purse, police said.
The victim claimed she had a brief struggle with the suspect before he grabbed her purse and fled the scene, investigators reported. The victim said her purse had $5,000 in cash, medications, and various credit cards.
The investigation is ongoing.
