SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities say a Smithfield Township fire on Sunday has turned deadly and left two people injured.
On Sunday shortly after 5:00 p.m., the Marshalls Creek Fire Department and multiple other crews were called to the 200 block of Poco Lane in Smithfield Township for a fully involved fire.
28/22 News spoke with Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanic Jr., who says a man died in the fire.
New York man dead after Stroudsburg stabbing
Pennsylvania State Police report a 68-year-old man was found dead on scene. Two others suffered burn injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The PSP Stroudsburg Criminal Investigation Unit along with the Troop N Fire Marshal Unit are investigating the incident.
