Remembering lives lost one year after Hamas terror attacks

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — People gathered at the JCC in Scranton to remember those lost and the hostages still in Israel.

They took time to remember those from our area through photos placed around the room.

In addition to the program, there were several symbolic items set up as a reminder of the hostages taken one year ago.

"Tonight we remember and we remember the hostages. Tonight we stand shoulder to shoulder with the state of Israel, and tonight we comfort and stand in support of those who are still hurting," JCC CEO Dan Cardonick said.

"My nephew Leiter, 39 years old was killed in Gaza one year ago he was a beautiful person, he loved peace," said Scranton resident Ruth Leiter-iIzkowitz.
