18-year-old allegedly threatens shooting at Montoursville High School

WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An 18-year-old boy has been arrested after police say he threatened a shooting at Montoursville High School.

The affidavit states on October 2 an officer was approached by a student claiming she received a call from her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Yaa-sir Jennings-Cornelius, saying he was going to shoot up the school.

According to the criminal complaint, on October 3, officers arrested Jennings-Cornelius at a home in Williamsport after he allegedly pointed a black handgun at a screen in a Snapchat video.

Upon arrival, police say Jennings-Cornelius claimed the gun used in the video was provided to him by a "known juvenile." Investigators note the "known juvenile" Jennings-Cornelius spoke of was arrested in September for his involvement in the burglary of numerous firearms from the Blued Barrell gun store.

Jennings-Cornelius has been charged with terroristic threats, harassment, and receiving stolen property.
