Traffic warning during former President Trump’s Scranton visit

Doors will open at noon with remarks beginning at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday local officials were seen walking the grounds of the sports complex.

Scranton police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the event and have placed no parking signs and barricades in the parking lots nearest the sports complex, as well as no trespassing signs on private property.

Republican Lackawanna County Commissioner Chris Chermak is on the list of attendees to speak on Wednesday.

He stresses to those attending the rally that parking availability is limited.

"Just to be conscious it's going to be very busy, there's going to be a lot more people here than that building will fit. As far as I know it's first come first serve and when it's full it's full, so I would imagine there will be people here quite early in the morning, but just again plan ahead and plan on walking," explained Chermark.

There will be limited parking for handicapped in the West Olive Street Plaza. Meanwhile, Scranton schools will have an early dismissal ahead of the event to ease congestion.

However, school officials confirmed on 28/22 News those attending the rally will not be allowed to park in school lots.
