Man found guilty of 1st degree murder and other charges

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was found guilty of first-degree murder and other related charges for a 2022 death in Shamokin.

According to court documents, after a one-day trial, Corey Quincy was found guilty of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse, recklessly endangering another person, and possession of an instrument of crime.

According to police, the initial incident stemmed from police responding to a wellness check that led to the discovery a female victim.

Quincy's sentencing is scheduled for December 23, at 1:15 p.m.
