Scranton marathon expo kicks off

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Before a beloved tradition steps off in Lackawanna County an expo was held to prepare racers on what to expect ahead of the annual Steamtown marathon.

At Scranton High School, thousands of runners and their families stopped by to pick up their packets filled with race information, like the route and start times.

For the past week, crews have been working on putting the finishing touches on the race route.

A presentation was also held today to give runners a better understanding of the event.

To date, the annual race has raised more than 2.5 million dollars for the Saint Joseph Center of Scranton.
