PECKVILLE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It's time for our Halloween house of the night, and on Wednesday, hundreds came out to Peckville not only for a good scare, but for a good cause.
The home on Keystone Avenue transforms into your worst nightmare every year, but on Tuesday, the haunt raised money for Animal Care Associates in Scranton who help cats waiting to find their forever home.
"I always wanted to decorate down the alley. I just thought it'd be fun. Then I met Rob, and Rob's love of Halloween, and we started decorating the alley and then, three years ago he said, 'I really think I want to try walk through this year.' That's how it started," said Chrissie Conway, co-owner of the Halloween House of Peckville.

"And the other places that are in the area, I love going to them and enjoy them, but they're expensive, and we just wanted to give back to the community, something where they come have fun, and if their younger kids get scared, they're not wasting their money," said Halloween House of Peckville co-owner Robert Booth.
"So we have the Gremlin section this year, and some of the younger kids may not have ever seen gremlins but like their parents have, and so they'll say 'Oh wow, look at the gremlins,'" Conway explained.
"So tonight, we're having a fundraiser for our Animal Care Associates, it's a local cat rescue.
The Halloween House of Peckville offers both a drive-by experience and a haunted walk-through.
