WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — With just 20 days until election day, the campaign trail ran through Pennsylvania. Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Senator JD Vance held a rally in Williamsport.
The VP nominee gave a quick and short speech late Wednesday afternoon inside Liberty Arena.
More than 1,000 people attended the rally to show support for the Republican ticket.
"Look, I have got the easiest job in American politics. I just have to defend the record of Donald J. Trump," Vance explained.
In front of a large Lycoming County audience, Vance defended the former president on Wednesday.
"I have gone through a lot of elections. I am 79 years old. I'm telling you if you are going to vote, vote Republican because you are giving the nation away if you don't do it," said Lycoming County resident Betty Bloomer.
Bloomer was a big fan of what the VP candidate had to say. She says she was a registered Democrat her whole life but recently switched parties.

"If you want higher inflation, more chaos, and more open borders, Kamala Harris is your gal. But if you want a golden age of American prosperity, if you want affordable, a peaceful world, and secure the southern border, let's get out and make Donald J. Trump the next president," Vance stated.
He targeted topics like economic policy and immigration: two big concerns for voters.
"It's huge because there's a lot of undecided voters. I already decided who I'm going to vote for but there's a lot of undecided voters," said Benton resident Christian Booth.
It was a chance for Vance to speak to Pennsylvanians directly for the first time, hoping to capture votes in a state where the race is too close to call.
"When I first heard this was happening here I didn't believe it because this was a small area but it was cool he's putting in a lot of effort," said Pennsylvania College of Technology student Steven Plyer.
On Thursday, Vance will continue to rally support in our crucial swing state. The senator will also hold a rally in Pittsburgh on Thursday.
