SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Nothing says fall like a food festival, and on Wednesday, a local church in Lackawanna County held a Greek Food Fest.
Smells of gyros and baklava filled the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Scranton.
This event is a smaller version of their summer festival, which is the church's biggest fundraiser.

Over three weeks of food preparations went into this event, and in order to meet demand, over 300 pounds of ground beef was used to make the church's popular grape leaves.
"This is our way of supporting our church and showing love to our community, and we're so grateful to the community that comes out we get to see a lot of the same people year after year. It's really nice seeing everyone come, so happy, and Greeks love to feed people," said Maria Eleftherakis, the priest's wife at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
Officials with the event ask people to call ahead and place an order for pick up.
The Fall Greek Food Festival runs on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
