BENTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Lackawanna County Director of Roads and Bridges says construction on the bridge on Earl Clark Road might not start until Spring 2027.
Benton Township bridge closed after a side collapsed
“If I give the Engineers the OK to start the process of replacing the bridge next week and they fast track it, the earliest it would be ready for bid would be the fall of 2026 with spring construction in 2027.” said Larry Lukasik, Lackawanna County Director of Roads and Bridges
The county said they closed the bridge on Tuesday, October 15, after a side collapsed while a Benton Township road crew was working on the bridge deck.
