Woman pleads guilty to role in dismembering, burning man's body

BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman has pled guilty in Bradford County court for her involvement in the dismembering and burning of a man's body in March of 2024.

Summer Lynn Heil, 37, Harrisburg, pled guilty on Thursday to a felony count of hindering apprehension. She originally faced several misdemeanors charges in connection with assisting Ronda and Terry Parker in covering up the death of Michael Pruitt, according to the Bradford County District Attorney.

As part of Heil's plea deal, she will provide testimony against the Parkers.

"During the plea proceeding, Heil acknowledged that she did not play any role in the killing of Michael Pruitt, which is consistent with all of the evidence set forth in hearings previously," noted District Attorney Richard Wilson. "However, Heil added some important pieces of testimony during her plea proceeding, confirming that she saw two revolvers at Terry Parker's apartment in Harrisburg shortly before the murders," Wilson added.

Wilson noted that this is important because earlier testimony suggested that Pruitt waskilled with antique revolvers that were found in Terry Parker's apartment.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, on March 8, Pruitt was shot twice by Terry at Ronda's home on Sawyer Road in Springfield Township, Bradford County.

State police say both Terry and Ronda drove from Springfield Township to Harrisburg with the body in the car. According to text messages, they got ice cream with the kids while Pruitt's body was in the car.

Heil, Terry's girlfriend at the time, joined the pair when they returned to Bradford County.

According to state police, Heil and Terry worked on dismembering Pruitt’s body and burning it, while Ronda worked on cleaning the inside of the house.

Heil is set to be sentenced in December.
