SOUTH CANAAN TWP., WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced after a 3-month-old was pronounced dead in November of 2023.
Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced Michael Alexander Crowl, 26, of Lake Ariel, has been sentenced to 20-40 years in prison on the charges of murder in the 3rd degree.
In November 2023, Pennsylvania State Police received a tip from Wayne County Children and Youth Services regarding a 3-month-old boy who was brain-dead and not going to survive.
The victim was pronounced dead at Geisinger-Danville and the cause of death appeared to be shaken baby syndrome, police stated.
Crowl told investigators that he worked for the victim's family and helped out babysitting. Court documents revealed the victim had been throwing up and not sleeping, Crowl stated to police he was frustrated so he shook the victim back and forth.
The victim sustained multiple injuries consistent with abusive head trauma.
