WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating what they describe as an attempted assault by a man with a machete in Wilkes-Barre last week.
According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, on October 18, around 10:30 p.m., officers were informed of an attempted assault on South Franklin Street.
Man accused of stealing voucher at Mohegan Pennsylvania
The victim, 21, of Wilkes-Barre, told officers he was inside a vehicle parked in the 400 block of South Franklin Street when he saw the suspect open the passenger side door.
The victim claimed that the suspect then raised a machete above his head before the driver of the vehicle drove away, police stated. The victim reported that he knew the suspect as "Angel."
The investigation is ongoing.
