Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff campaigns in NEPA

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — We are just 15 days away from the November presidential election, and candidates are continuing their campaigns here in Pennsylvania.

On Monday, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff made stops in Lackawanna and Luzerne County to campaign on behalf of his wife, Vice President Kamala Harris, and her Vice Presidential Candidate Governor Tim Walz.

Presidential campaigns are in full swing across the Keystone State and Emhoff made his way through NEPA Monday afternoon.

"It is good to be back in Pennsylvania spending a lot of time here, cause, we all are because we're gonna win this state, and we're gonna win this election," Emhoff said.

Emhoff's visit started off with knocking on doors and speaking to voters, on Dean Street in the plot section of Scranton.

Alongside Emhoff was the Electric City's Mayor, Paige Cognetti.

They soon made their way to Luzerne County where they stopped at The Lands at Hillside Farms in Kingston Township.

The second gentleman finished off his visit with a country-over party event at King's College in Wlkes-Barre.

"Thank you! Thank you Wilkes-Barre," Emhoff stated.

Several local and national lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle expressed their support for Harris.

"Kamala Harris wants to bring us together. Kamala Harris, I'll never forget that convention speech when she looked at all of those cameras and she said I want to be president for all of you. Those are words Trump could never utter," said Former Republican Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh.

With just two weeks to go in a tight race, Emhoff honed in on a central message about the vice president.

"She is such a fighter and you know she's gonna continue to fight for our country for these next 15 days, we are not gonna rest. We are not gonna take a break, we are gonna run as fast as we can right through the tape," Emhoff said.

Other speakers at Monday's rally included Wilkes-barre Mayor George Brown, State Representative Eddie Day Pashinski, Luzerne County Council Member Jimmy Sabatino, and Former Republican Lieutenant Governor of Georgia Geoff Duncan.
