HAWLEY, WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Ahead of America's 250th Birthday in 2026, the Semiquincentennial Bell in Wayne County was dedicated.
Dozens attended the event at the Hawley Silk Mill earlier today, all a part of America 250PA's mission to help Pennsylvanians understand the origins and diverse perspectives of current issues, inspire future leaders, and celebrate local contributions to both state and national history.

A Wilkes-Barre-based company designed the bell site in Hawley, all part of the organization's mission to place these sites all across the Commonwealth.
"It's been a long story and I think this is really the crowning achievement to really cap it off as a community gathering spot and a hub that this sight has served at for well over a hundred years," Settlers Hospitality CEO Justin Genzlinger said.
America 250PA hopes to engage citizens from all across the state's 67 counties in the state's rich history.
