Teen charged after stabbing at Sheetz in Larksville

LARKSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — An 18-year-old has been arrested after police say he stabbed a man multiple times during a fight at Sheetz in Larksville.

According to the Larksville Police Department, on October 20, officers were called to Sheetz on East Main Street around 4:00 a.m. for a disturbance.

Once on the scene, police say they found the victim on the floor near the cash registers being treated. The victim told officers that he was at a house party in Hanover Township and claimed Damii Jones-Gross, 18, of Kingston, had followed him to Sheetz from the party.

Investigators reported that the victim and Jones-Gross began arguing when Jones-Gross spat on the victim causing a fight to break out involving several people.

Surveillance video showed a group of people fighting and Jones-Gross making stabbing motions with his hands while the victim ran away, as stated in the affidavit.

Authorities stated the victim was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township after he suffered seven stab wounds and a collapsed lung.

After the stabbing, Jones-Gross fled the scene but later that day around 10:30 a.m., he turned himself in to police admitting to stabbing the victim. According to court documents, Jones-Gross said he stabbed the victim enough times to leave him alone.

Jones-Gross was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct. He was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $50,000 bail.
