WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Boscov's is holding its annual Friends Helping Friends event to benefit local non-profit organizations.
51 different organizations are participating, selling $5 25% off coupons throughout the year.
17 of those organizations are in-store on Tuesday, selling coupons to last-minute shoppers.
The coupons are only valid during business hours on Tuesday but are redeemable both in-store and online.
Experts give tips to combat election related stress
100% of all coupon proceeds will go to the organization they are purchased from.
"Our organization is a service organization and so for me to be a part of that and just be able to give back to the community it feels great, you know, that's what we need to do," said Order of the Eastern Star Secretary Linda Sipple.
"It's a nice fundraising event because for us and (other) non-profits every little bit counts so this allows us to continue to provide the free services to our cancer clients," Cancer Wellness Center of NEPA Program Support Specialist Melissa Ostroskie said.
Boscov's Friends Helping Friends runs until 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
