SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials have announced that Route 61 has reopened after a gas leak Wednesday morning.
Officials note that a contractor was working on the Route 61 Frackville to St. Clair reconstruction project struck a gas line between Schuylkill Mall Road, West Hancock Street, and Wade Road.

According to PennDOT, Route 61 traffic is was detoured on Interstate 81, Route 901, and Route 209 due to a gas leak.
