CHESTNUTHILL TWP., MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — State police are reporting a woman has died after her car went down an embankment and hit a tree.
On Thursday, October 24 around 4:00 p.m., troopers say they were called for a crash at the intersection of Barry's Road and Bluegrass Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
Through further investigation, police stated the driver traveled through the intersection, down an embankment, and struck a tree causing the car to overturn.
Search for missing 16-year-old in Schuylkill County
The Monroe County Coroner Thomas Yanac said the driver, Megan Oldenburg, 39, from Hamilton Township was pronounced dead on the scene.
Coroner Yanac reported Oldenburg's cause of death was due to multiple blunt force trauma.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash.
