DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local model train event just got even bigger. Bernie's Model Railroad Shop held its Fourth Bi-annual Great Northeast Model Train Show in Dunmore on Sunday.
More than 100 vendors took part in the train sales alongside hundreds of train enthusiasts who came out to enjoy the show.
The event also featured two interactive model train displays, a DJ, and food available for purchase.

Organizers say they had a record number of people who attended the last show in March and hoped to surpass that number.
The railroad shop owner says the real fun of the event is not just in the trains.
"Even all the years that I've been doing this, the favorite part of the hobby for me is not so much the trains themselves, but just the friendships that are created through the hobby," said Bernie Macavage, owner of Bernie's Model Railroad Shop and event organizer.
The shop is already looking forward to the next show in March at the Holiday Inn on Tigue Street.
