Police arrest man after allegedly lighting pumpkins on fire

SHAMOKIN, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The man who police say allegedly committed "pumpkin arson" is now in custody.

Shamokin Police have arrested Timothy Jeremiah after police were dispatched to East Independence Street in Shamokin last Thursday.

City cameras show the suspect dumping a container on the pumpkins before lighting them on fire.

Jeremiah admitted to the act, telling police he used gasoline to start the fire. He now faces several charges including arson.
