'The Office' star stops by the Electric City, gives out sausage

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin from The Office was in Scranton on Tuesday.

The actor joined Johnsonville, a Wisconsin-based sausage company, at the Lackawanna County Courthouse to give out fresh-grilled sausage, giving locals a brief break from all the political advertising.

The Scranton-Wilkes Barre area is the most "politically overserved" market in the country with a whopping $81,000,000 in political ad spending.

During his visit, Baumgartner connected directly with residents and captured their candid takes on living in a political epicenter.

"Voting is important, but it is impossible for me not to think about what could actually be done with $81,000,,000 if it was spent in northeastern Pennsylvania, for the people here, so that's really why I'm here. I feel like you guys have been overserved, and so we brought some sausages out here today to serve you something just a little bit different and give you a break from your constant barrage of ads that you've had to endure over the last several months," Baumgartner said.
