HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local organization is expanding its reach to help even more people. 28/22 News stopped by Dress for Success Luzerne County's new location and shows all that they have to offer.
Coats, bags, makeup, and clothes are all inside the new Dress for Success location in Hazelton. The staff here also offers more than what you see here.
"We don't just provide clothing. We're helping to change lives. We have a wonderful workforce development program. We have a career center where our women are welcome to come and keep looking for jobs editing their resume and even getting their computer skills up-to-date," stated Linda Loop, founder & CEO of Dress for Success Luzerne County.
All the items in here are provided to the women free of cost.
"We are open by referral and appointment, so any woman that needs our services through her agency any agency that she's working with could call us and make an appointment," explained Loop.
Something that’s often not considered is what it costs to start a job.

"When you go out to dinner next time, look at your server look at her shoes. Look at the pants she's wearing she hast to have about $150 to start that job," said Loop.
The new location in Hazelton is expected to help hundreds of women.
"If you don't have that money, you're not going to work so that's where we come in and help a woman get what she needs to start that job and to get back on her feet," stated Loop.
Loop says she is grateful for the reception they are receiving and looks forward to earning more from this new location.
"This year we're being named as the charitable organization of the year with the greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce and we're looking to earn a gray title and a place in the hearts of this community here in Hazleton," expressed Loop.
