BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The clock is ticking down the final hours on one of the most hotly-contested US Senate races.
The race for that seat in Pennsylvania is considered a dead heat, and on Sunday, the Republican Nominee held a rally in the town where he attended high school.
28/22 News was there for what was billed as Dave McCormick's hometown hero rally.
McCormick returned to his alma mater Bloomsburg Area High School on Sunday to try and pin down his home crowd.
Around 100 people supported the Bloom native inside a very special gymnasium.
Greeted by his wife, republican nominee Dave McCormick took the stage once again sunday evening inside Bloomsburg Area High School.
This time, it was not about winning a wrestling match as he did many times as a student here, but instead trying to win a US Senate seat.
"I'm not running to represent Republicans. I'm running to represent every citizen in Pennsylvania. Republican, Democrat, Independent," said McCormick.
McCormick delivered his closing arguments in the final stretch of the race as to why voters should choose him.

"I'm probably 120% for Dave McCormick now," said Bloomsburg resident Patty Wright.
Wright feels extra sure about her vote following the rally, especially after hearing McCormick touch on inflation, border security, and fracking.
"All the stuff that I was looking for he mentioned and I really appreciate that he was here. Absolutely," Wright continued.
With Change vs. Status quo at the heart of his campaign, McCormick will look to defeat three-term US Senator Bob Casey.
"So Punxsutawney Bob keeps hunkered down in his hole and he comes out for every election for 6 months tries to make a lot of activity and then gets elected and goes back in his hole. I'm putting it all out there," McCormick explained.
"He's doing this for the Red, White, and Blue. He's not for the red. He's not for the Blue. He's for the Red, White and Blue. He's doing this for all the right reasons," said Congressman Dan Meuser.
Meuser, South Dakota US Senator John Thune, and McCormick's brother were all on hand to support McCormick.
This race is one of the most expensive and competitive in the country.
But McCormick is no stranger to competition and is ready to take down his opponent in this match.
"We're in the third period and the third period winning or losing not about wrestling it's about mental toughness, it's about heart and staying on offense until the buzzer goes that's what I need you to do that's what I'm going to do," McCormick added.
This is McCormick's second time running for the US Senate.
The last time was in 2022 when he lost in the Republican primary to Doctor Oz.
McCormick's opponent, Incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey, spent the day in Philadelphia.
He took part in a Day of Solidarity rally with Amazon teamsters.
