WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say an investigation is underway after multiple fires broke out across Williamsport on Monday.
On Monday, the Williamsport Bureau of Police and the Williamsport Bureau of Fire announced they're working on a joint investigation into multiple suspected arson incidents that happened at multiple areas throughout Williamsport.
The first incident was at 5:00 a.m. on the 1300 block of Park Avenue where police responded to a call where a number of vehicles were vandalized, police also say a vehicle was the subject of an intentional fire.
At 6:20 a.m. on the 100 block of Rose Street, crews responded to several brush fires that broke out in the south area of the parking lot.
At 9:00 a.m. on the 1000 block of Vine Avenue, officials responded to a reported fire to a couch on the sidewalk that impacted nearby vehicles.
Police investigating death after reported shot fired
At 12:31 p.m., authorities responded to two vehicles that were subject to an intentionally set fire and vandalized overnight on the 100 block of West Third Street.
The Williamsport Bureau of Police says firefighters extinguished any potential flames at all the incidents, no structures were severely damaged, and there were no reported injuries.
Authorities are also looking at other fires that happened over the weekend that appear to be unrelated or accidental.
On Friday, November 1, at 3:00 p.m. crews were called to the 100 block of Via Bella for a reported dumpster fire behind a building.
Two days later early Sunday morning, November 3, authorities responded at 2:00 a.m. to the 1000 block of Vine Avenue for another dumpster fire which authorities say appears to be careless or not malicious.
