MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Trump supporters were in Monroe County on Monday as the Trump bus came through the area.
Trump supporters were part of the team, including Florida representative Byron Donalds, former Chief of Staff for the Department of Defense Kash Patel, and Doctor Ben Carson, who ran for president in 2016.
Each speaker encouraged everyone to vote, including undecideds.
Security measures in place at Luzerne County polling places
They stressed how important Pennsylvania is in this election.
"It's a pivotal state for this election and I want people to recognize that our Founders, many of them right here in Pennsylvania, gave us a fail-safe in case our country ever started going off the rails. That fail-safe was We The People," Dr Carson said.
"Monroe County is integral to the election, to the Pennsylvania election, and Pennsylvania is integral to the United States election. So we're very proud that they stopped here to show that we matter and we're important to them," said local business owner and community leader Christine Wilkins.
Former President Trump is making his final pitch in the commonwealth on Monday. He held rallies in Reading and Pittsburgh.
On Sunday, Trump was in Lancaster County, calling for voters to head to the polls on Tuesday.
He also rallied against the election system, calling for the return of paper ballots only, saying voting should be one day only on Election Day.
