Bomb threat called in to Snyder County courthouse

MIDDLEBURG BOROUGH, SNYDER COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Officials say multiple roads in Synder County are closed Tuesday evening following reported bomb threats.

Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz tells 28/22 News a bomb threat was leveed against the Synder County Courthouse.

Kantz said a bomb threat was called into the Snyder County Courthouse prompting an evacuation.

The Middleburg Police Department, along with the Snyder County Sheriff's Office are on scene investigating and waiting for the all clear from officials before they allow people back in the building.

Commissioner Kantz said he refused to evacuate and allow a fear monger to uproot an otherwise very smooth election day in Snyder County, stating there have been zero issues all day throughout the county.

In the mean time if you were planning on dropping off your ballot at the Election Bureau Kantz said to instead bring it to the Middleburg Post Office 9 North Main St, Middleburg, PA 17842.

In response, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Tuesday evening multiple roads in Snyder County are closed for police activity regarding the threat.
