PA Water urges consumers to reduce nonessential use

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Pennsylvania American Water is asking customers to reduce nonessential water use due to the drought watch declaration.

The release states that on November 1, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental announced the drought watch declaration.

PA Water says they are asking residents and businesses to voluntarily reduce their nonessential water use by at least 10 to 15 percent, approximately 11 to 16 gallons per day.

"Our sources of supply are currently adequate to meet the needs of our customers, as wevigilantly monitor our drinking water sources, we want to mitigate the potential for more severe conditions that could lead to stricter conservation measures in the future," stated Jim Runzer, Vice President of Operations for Pennsylvania American Water.
