Pittston man allegedly sends police on high speed chase

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is in custody after police say he sent them on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.

According to the Kingston Municipal Police Department, on October 25 around 3:55 p.m., officers saw a black SUV drive past at a high rate of speed.

Officers state they initiated a traffic stop on Market Street and South River Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Police say the driver, 18-year-old James Michael Nardone, from Pittston, failed to stop resulting in him running multiple red lights.

The affidavit explains Nardone continued on South Main Street then back on South River Street, and then to Blackman Street, leading the officers in pursuit to hit a high rate speed of 85 miles per hour.

When officers ran the vehicle plates the car came back stolen on the morning of October 25.

Nardone has been charged with reckless driving, careless driving, fleeing, or attempting to elude officers along with several other related charges.
