Driver killed in vehicle fire crash identified

PENN FORREST TWP., CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The Carbon County coroner has identified the driver who died when his vehicle caught fire after a crash.

Carbon County Coroner’s Office stated the crash happened in Penn Forest Township, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike mile marker 83.2 around 9:35 p.m. Wednesday.

Man in custody after shooting in Bradford County

Investigators stated the driver, Paul Schweizer, 68, of Harveys Lake, collided with a tractor-trailer and his vehicle caught on fire.

Schweizer was pronounced dead on the scene and the cause of death was due to thermal burns and smoke inhalation.
