WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Three people are wanted after police say they distracted a woman at Walmart, stole her wallet, and spent thousands on her cards.
The Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department is investigating a theft at Walmart where three people used a stolen credit card at Best Buy and Target.
On October 23 the victim’s wallet was stolen while shopping at Walmart. Investigators say the suspects distracted the victim and stole her wallet from inside her purse.
After the theft, the victim’s credit card was used at Best Buy and Target, resulting in $3,772.09 in unauthorized charges.
Arrest made after weed found growing in basement
Police broke down the fraudulent charges as follows:
Best Buy: $2,532.31, including two transactions of $2,118.94 and $413.37
Target: $1,240.78, consisting of two transactions of $618.00 and $622.78
The suspects involved included two women who officers believe targeted the victim and a man who used the stolen credit card.
