GREENE TOWNSHIP, PIKE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man is in police custody after allegedly assaulting a state trooper during a traffic stop.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on Saturday morning around 7:57 a.m. officer initiated a traffic stop on 46-year-old Scott Swisher.
Troopers say during the traffic stop they discovered a warrant out for Swisher's arrest on charges filed by the Pike County District Attorney's Office.

The release stated as troopers attempted to take Swisher into custody for the warrant, he failed to obey the verbal commands and ran away.
Swisher then resisted troopers and began to stab a state trooper in the head with a pen multiple times before troopers were able to fully place Swisher in custody, as explained in the release.
Swisher aggravated assault, resisting arrest, possession of an instrument of crime, and several other related charges.
