CLARKS SUMMIT, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A local holiday marketplace is keeping a tradition alive while carrying on a legacy.
Abington Community Library in Clarks Summit hosted its 15th annual Dorothy Boccella holiday marketplace this weekend.
Shoppers were able to buy a variety of items from more than 30 vendors and also purchase tickets for a chance to win one of the more than 100 raffle baskets.
Boccella was a former library employee who started the marketplace to raise money for the library while supporting local businesses.

After her passing in 2013, they renamed the marketplace in her memory.
"My mom was the pillar of kindness. Anyone she ever met would tell you she is just the kindest person, the sweetest person, never had a bad thing to say about anyone. So the idea that those traits are carried on, and people remember her every year, it means a lot," said Dorothy's Son Nicholas Boccella.
This is Abington Community Library's largest fundraiser of the year and they are expecting to raise a lot of money after counting all of the proceeds.
