SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Family, friends, and loved ones showed up in Scranton on Sunday to help a woman battling an aggressive form of cancer.
Hundreds of people made their way to Saint Anthony Center for what was billed as Benefit for Juanita.
Raffle baskets, t-shirts, and take-out pasta dinners were all ways people could donate and show their support.
49-year-old Juanita Mattern of Dunmore was diagnosed in June with triple-negative breast cancer.

She is on leave from her job at Alexanders Salon and Spa in Scranton.
She receives chemo treatments once a week for six hours.
"I kind of locked myself in my room for three days because I didn't know how to wrap my head around it. I'm trying to control it, not it control me. I didn't know I was liked this much it's pretty cool," Mattern said.
"It shows the true spirit of her life, of her journey, of her heart. She gives of herself every day checking in on anyone for anything so we have to show her the support she needs during this time," said Joe Farley, a client of Juanita from Dunmore.
More than 500 pasta dinners made by Mattern's son, Austin, were sold at the benefit.
All of the proceeds will go toward her personal bills and medical expenses.
