Crossroads project to improve roads in Wilkes-Barre area

LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — PennDOT has announced a public meeting about the Crossroads Partnership Improvement Project impacting roadways throughout the Wilkes-Barre area.

According to PennDOT, the public is invited to view virtual plans on the Route 6309 Kidder Street and Route 2061 Mundy Street Crossroads Improvement Partnership in Plains Township, the City of Wilkes-Barre, and Wilkes-Barre Township.

As stated in the release, the project involves improvements along Route 6309 Kidder Street, Route 2601 Mundy Street, Valley Crest Boulevard, and the Route 8045 Interchange Ramps (Exit 1 to Route 309 Cross Valley Expressway).

Officials note the project is anticipated to start in Fall 2025 and will be completed in Fall 2027.

The meeting will be held at the Plains Township Fox Hill Firehouse No. 2 Building, 50 Second Street, Plains, PA 18705 on November 25, starting at 6:00 p.m.

The virtual displays will be available online from November 18, 2024, to December 9, 2024.
