Shapiro administration gets more federal aid to help Tropical Storm Debby victims

EYEWITNESS NEWS (WBRE/WYOU) — Good news for communities with damage from Tropical Storm Debby: The Shapiro Administration has secured additional federal aid.

The catastrophic impact of Tropical Storm Debby is still being felt across NEPA.

Governor Josh Shapiro says President Biden approved his request for more public assistance for the August storm.

The funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency will help local municipalities and private nonprofits in 12 PA counties.

That includes Lycoming, Susquehanna, and Wyoming.

Additional counties could be added if the damage is significant enough.

Over $5,000,000 in federal aid has already been distributed to people across the Commonwealth.
