DICKSON CITY, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Dickson City man has been charged after allegedly smothering a seven-month-old baby.
According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to Geisinger Community Medical Center for a report of an assault against a seven-month-old child.
The criminal complaint states the baby had a mark on her stomach that resembled the shape of a hand and a few cuts on her neck. As stated in the affidavit, 19-year-old Tre Fox-Frazier was left alone at home with the seven-month-old baby.
Police said surveillance footage from inside the home showed Fox-Frazier placing the baby on the floor with her legs bent backward, laying her back by placing his hand on her face with his palm over her nose and mouth for about two seconds.

Investigators stated when Fox-Frazier removed his hand from her face, the baby could be heard gasping for air. Court documents state Fox-Frazier tried to console the baby again before going into the bathroom and a sound similar to hand striking skin can be heard coming from the bathroom.
On November 13, the footage was reviewed by the Lackawanna County District Attorney's Office and Fox-Frazier faces the charges of misdemeanor simple assault and felony endangering the welfare of a child.
