MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Investigators are looking for a man after they say he led police on a chase with a child inside the car.
The Stroud Area Regional Police Department stated in July 2024, officers tried to pull over a car where the driver, Adam Booker, 36, had several active warrants out of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
A chase started involving several police departments and during the pursuit, Booker called 911 to report that a woman and a 4-year-old were in the car with him, and "he was out of his mind," police reported.
Ten charged with interstate auto theft conspiracy
Eventually, the chase was called off by state police and Booker was not located. Police said they later learned Booker pulled over and ran into the woods. The woman in the car claimed Booker disabled her phone, and she couldn't call 911.
Booker has been charged with endangering the welfare of children, fleeing, police, and other related offenses.
