The foundation is seeking additional capital partners for the development of the facility.

“Our family has received many requests from local teams and sports programs looking for indoor facilities and we wanted to help. We have done the research and there is a great need for this facility in our area.  This grant will support and expand our vision for the Community Recreational Campus,” said Paul DeAngelo, founder of the Paul and Lisa DeAngelo Family Foundation.

Officials note the DeAngelo family has engaged with Pinnacle Indoor Sports and has identified the need for this kind of facility in Hazleton.

The Pinnacle is now moving into the design and oversight of the project, officials add.

The grand opening for the Community Recreational Campus is expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
