COVINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A damaged overhead railroad bridge is to blame for a local road closure.
PennDOT says Route 2009, also known as Jubilee Road in Covington Township, is closed due to damage of the overhead railroad bridge.

A detour is in place directing traffic from Route 435 to Route 690, then back onto Route 2004 and Jubilee Road.
There is no word yet on when the road will reopen, but PennDOT advises drivers to stay updated by visiting 511PA.com or calling 511 for real-time road conditions and detour updates.
