Man arrested for allegedly assaulting two women, police

WILKES-BARRE TWP., LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police say they arrested a man after he allegedly assaulted two women and fought with police during his arrest.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department, on November 25 officers were called to a scene in the Georgetown section of Wilkes-Barre Township.

Police say Jason Matthew Stefanski, 41, assaulted two women and tried to throw a dog down steps. When officers arrived, Stefanski fought with police when they went to arrest him leading them to utilize a Taser to subdue him.

Stefanski was taken to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on a $25,000 bail.
